Evaluating pharmaceutical supply chain security within small open economies requires a dual-track methodological framework capable of operationalizing both qualitative contingency dynamics and systemic disruption parameters. To capture the multi-dimensional nature of external supply shocks, this dissertation implements a systematic scenario-mapping protocol integrated with qualitative grounded synthesis, establishing rigorous evaluative criteria across strategic, operational, and regulatory tiers. Grounded methodological approaches allow researchers to systematically categorize institutional vulnerabilities and organizational crisis responses across healthcare supply networks without imposing premature structural rigidities (Ebrahimi et al., 2021). By contextualizing qualitative disruption narratives alongside multi-objective disruption management models, the analytical framework identifies critical threshold dependencies where cross-border trade frictions trigger acute product shortages (Rajabi et al., 2024). Furthermore, disruption mapping operationalizes acute stress scenarios—ranging from geopolitical trade restrictions to raw material manufacturing halts—by evaluating how procurement agility and buffer inventories moderate systemic exposure (Sharifi et al., 2021). The synthesis protocol integrates these shock vectors into structured thematic matrices, ensuring that the qualitative categorization of vulnerability remains systematically linked to empirical supply continuity requirements. Consequently, this methodological architecture provides a verifiable foundation for analyzing national resilience capabilities, balancing qualitative institutional assessment with formalized disruption parameters across import-dependent therapeutic categories.
