Specifically, the research asks: To what extent does the integration of AI tools reshape traditional pedagogical roles in US higher education? How does the current funding landscape for AI research and implementation contribute to institutional stratification? The study seeks to determine what policy mechanisms are necessary to ensure that AI-driven personalized learning does not disadvantage students from marginalized backgrounds. These questions necessitate a multi-dimensional analysis of both the technical capabilities of the software and the socio-political context of its deployment. A more productive framing of the issue moves beyond binary views of "disruption" or "enhancement" to look at the structural changes in how educational capital is allocated. The central aim of this research is to evaluate the systemic impact of artificial intelligence on educational practices and institutional equity in the United States. Achieving this goal requires a structured approach across four key objectives. First, the study identifies pedagogical shifts driven by AI to understand how the instructor-student dynamic is evolving. Second, the research analyzes funding stratification in AI research to reveal the economic engines driving technological adoption. Third, it assesses ethical challenges in implementation, focusing on data privacy and algorithmic bias. Finally, the study proposes policy recommendations for equitable access, providing a roadmap for administrators and legislators to mitigate the risks identified in the preceding chapters. Each objective serves as a pillar for a comprehensive assessment of the American educational status quo. The object of this study is the integration of artificial intelligence within United States educational systems, encompassing both K-12 and higher education environments. This includes the hardware, software, and data infrastructures that facilitate AI-driven instruction and administration. The study also excludes corporate training environments, focusing strictly on accredited academic institutions where the mandate for equity is a matter of public interest. A mixed-methods approach facilitates a comprehensive understanding of the research problem. The final chapters synthesize these findings to propose a policy framework aimed at fostering equitable access and ensuring that the future of American education is defined by inclusion rather than exclusion. The rise of AI in the classroom is not a neutral event. It is a contested process that reflects the priorities of the society that creates and implements it. As the United States navigates this transition, the need for rigorous, evidence-based analysis has never been greater.
